Scenario

Scenarios are WAR's instanced RvR challenges, pitting groups from the two realms against each other in fast-paced action type struggles. Any number of instances of the same scenario (with different players in them) can run at the same time. Winning scenarios contributes victory points to your realm. At launch, there will be 30 scenarios in the game, 10 for each racial pairing, spread across all four tiers. For scenarios in tier 4, only those in the currently contested campaign zone will be active.
Scenario instances are entered through an entrance in a regular skirmish area. Inside, you (and your group, if you are in one) are taken to a lobby where you are matched up with friends and enemies for a balanced fight. While waiting for the scenario to start, you will have the chance to receive mini-quests to complete within the scenario. Each scenario will have different objectives that your team will try to accomplish before the enemy does, themed according to the area of the world you are currently in. You will be able to see those objectives and other information in the scenario lobby. Scenarios last on average 30 to 40 minutes, some much less.
Scenarios will vary in size, some being just one group versus one group, others will include multiple groups. It is planned that opponents will be balanced according to the battle point totals of each side.
The winner of the scenario is the first to reach a pre-determined point total. Scoring is based on player kills, with bonus points picked up according to the scenario objectives. Standard scenarios are expected to be 500 point fights, but there will be others on a larger scale, with some going up to 2000 points.
There are three distinguishing categories which apply to scenarios:
- Type - Capture the Flag, Murder Ball, Death-match, Domination.
- Size - 6v6, 12v12, ... 36v36.
- Scale - 500pts, 1000pts, 1500pts etc.
